Floating slabs save money for SSAB
Safe and durable, no maintenance, no floor wear. Designed for heavy loads, and particularly cost effective. These are features of air film technology, the technology SSAB chose for moving slabs to the cutting machine in their rolling mill.
Having previously purchased air film equipment in 1997, SSAB had experience of this alternative technology. Solving was consulted for the design of two air film transporters for moving a maximum of five full length slabs weighing 30 tons each, a total load of 150 tons.
